Camila Valente de Souza

Holds a Bachelor's degree and a Teaching Degree in Social Sciences from Fluminense Federal University (UFF), a Master’s degree in History, Politics, and Cultural Assets from CPDOC/FGV, and is currently a PhD candidate in Communication at PPGCOM/UERJ. She works as a Sociology teacher in the state education network of Rio de Janeiro (SEEDUC/RJ). Her academic trajectory is marked by research into the social dynamics of football supporter culture. During her master's program, she analyzed the rise of a new conservative wave in Brazil and forms of resistance to oppression in football stadiums, particularly among new supporter formations of the 21st century, such as the "Barras" in Rio de Janeiro. Currently, in her doctoral studies, she investigates anti-racist narratives in football.
