Marcelo Rezende

PhD candidate and holds a Master’s degree in Social Communication from the Graduate Program in Communication at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (PPGCom-UERJ), where he is part of the research line Media Cultures, Imaginary, and City. He is a Qualitec research fellow at the Laboratory of Communication, City and Consumption (Lacon-UERJ). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Communication from UERJ (2021) and has been working as a journalist for over 10 years, with experience at media outlets such as LANCE!, Alerj, Esporte Interativo, and TV Shoptime. He is the author of 7 a 1 nos jornais do Brasil [7 to 1 in Brazil’s Newspapers] (2024), a book analyzing media coverage of the most significant defeat in the history of the Brazilian national football team.
