Simeon Davies

Prof. Davies is particularly interested in research concerning sports/exercise science in applied situations, along with ergonomics/human factors, as well as research ethics, resulting in numerous peer reviewed publications and presentations at conferences. He acts as a reviewer for seven peer journals, as well as being a member of an editorial board for the Journal Performance Enhancement and Health. Prof Davies is rated researcher with the National Research Foundation in South Africa and is an Affiliate member to the Applied Microbial and Health Biotechnology Institute (AMHBI) at CPUT. Prof Davies is a registered member with the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (C.ErgHF MCIEHF) and an Academic Advisor to the Minister for Sport and Recreation South Africa (SRSA), Special Task Team member for the development and introduction of the Sport Coaching Degree with the Council of Higher Education (CHE) South Africa and a member of the Advisory Board for the Sport and Society Research Network. Prof Davies played volleyball at International level representing England and Great Britain and presently enjoys trail running, mountain biking, fishing and golf.
